The Arizona Coyotes have claimed Calgary Flames forward Adam Ružička off of waivers. Ružička has appeared in 39 of Calgary’s 47 games this season, netting three goals and nine points. He’s also recorded six penalty minutes and a -8.
Ružička has slowly established his place in the NHL over the last four seasons, making his debut with the Flames in 2020-21. He’s since totaled 114 career NHL games and 40 career points, adding 26 penalty minutes. He is one of seven players from the 2017 NHL Draft’s fourth round to play in at least 100 NHL games, alongside players like Ottawa’s Drake Batherson and Buffalo’s Jacob Bryson. Ružička has also appeared in 98 AHL games across three seasons, totaling 68 points.
Ružička provides much-needed center depth to a Coyotes team that currently has Barrett Hayton and Travis Boyd on injured reserve. The team has turned towards Dylan Guenther in light of their injuries, with the 20-year-old winger managing six points in nine games this season. Guenther also leads the Coyotes’ AHL affiliate in scoring with 28 points in 29 games – despite the team playing in nine more games since the winger’s call-up.
Now without Ružička, the Flames will need to turn towards one of Cole Schwindt, Adam Klapka, or Walker Duehr to takeover the open bottom-line role. Schwindt and Klapka have only played in one and two games respectively, while Duehr has seen 19 appearances and scored four points. Calgary also has Matthew Coronato currently in the NHL lineup. The former first-round pick is 13 games into his rookie NHL season, boasting just two points, four penalty minutes, and a -9.

Ooh where is Cal Foote going to go Wilf? How about McLeod? Dube? Hart? I have a guess JAIL! I hope I’m as smart as you ;)
Buckle
These people don’t get jail time, I think back to the slap on the wrist Patrick Kane got for beating up a cab driver.

You wouldn’t get jail time as a normal person for assault maybe charged and he has the money to make it go away. Honestly that’s so long ago nobody is perfect and Patty Kane is an incredible player. If he hasn’t done it again I’m thankful doesn’t make the first time any better but he clearly learned At least outwardly…I find it funny people love to bring him up again and again what about Austin matthews mooning a security guard or whatever altercation that happened in the oilers locker room with Draisaitl and nurse. We can sit all day and point the finger at these kids and I stress this seems to happen when they’re kids…if I made 850000 as an 18 year old and came from a hockey culture that almost renders these players as above the law (especially small town Canada but it’s everywhere) I mean if you and I made that kind of money you think we’d be fine? I honestly think we’d be in trouble too. I would be. I dunno I am just tired of hearing of this can incident when it was how long ago. If we as normies do stupid things and are willing to forgive why can’t people in the spotlight be forgiven too? Crappy thing to do yup absolutely. Define his entire life? Not if is isolated no the man is more than just what he did once. Even these kids in the scandal it is disgusting and horrible what they did. They were so young again small town Canadian hockey culture makes these stars out to be gods. Doesn’t excuse what they did and they need to be punished but does it define who that are? I absolutely think not I can’t imagine walking around with the weight of that one garbage decision. I hope the girl can finally heal I hope they can learn and perhaps even play hockey again. But make 15-18 year old kids as gods and think there’s no consequences cmon guys if hockey culture needs change its there first and foremost. Stop exalting these kids.
