@DarkSide830 – Would have been a convenient way to dump salary, but they’re supposed to be pretty high on him, so it’ll be interesting to see if the arbitrator tries to give him the moon, or is forced to keep in line with the COVID-cap. I was under the impression that the Leafs could walk away from the arb ruling, then try to convince him to come back on the cheap, but I’m not about to flat line trying to read legalese of the CBA to confirm it. That said, they could come to an agreement just before the actual hearing, so we’ll just have to wait and see. As of right now, though, CapFriendly shows them with a paltry $1.3MM in space.
