ive probably got the homer goggles on but i think the leafs had a good day, good cheap depth signings didnt blow the piggy bank open on guys and were able to shed a ton of future commitments. if Kadri continues his downward trend this could end up being a steal especially with kerfoot, spezza and shore coming in to shore up their depth up the middle. also acquiring some RD helps a ton this year but darn after this year their back end has reilly and dermott so hopefully lilly and sandin can develop into studs by then. Dallas looks to be that team on paper now that is scary good

Nope, you’re not a homer, they made great deals, offloaded some dead weight, a bit of cap space and are now primed for Mitch’s signing! They waited until today was over to see who got what $$ and even if offer sheet comes, the Sebastian Aho deal looks closer to what will Likely happen with Mitch. He’s a Leaf for life!

Hey Gavin Lee – didn’t you just post not even 6-hours ago that Panerin would go to Florida for 7/80M?! Lol even I didn’t see that coming, s’all good bro!
Gbear
And for the rest of the UFA’s who didn’t get signed today, tough luck…….the money is all gone. :)

Pens still need a C and Preds need to move a C.
Hornqvist for Turris or Bjugstad for Bonino

I think the Leafs should have kept Kadri and traded Nylander, but they definitely got the D men they needed. Barrie and Ceci are great fits.
They are too soft up front now, though. If they don’t fix that, the Bruins will just rag doll them out of the playoffs again next year.

Gavin, now that Panarin is signed, what happens to Kreider?I hope the Rangers extend him and find other ways to cut salary.
MacJablonski--NotVegasLegend
@forwhomjoshbelltolls – Agree that the Leafs should have kept Kadri and traded Nylander, but adding Paper Mache Barrie makes the Leafs D worse, not better. Let’s see how many times he embodies “Nobody matters in a 6-2 game more than Paper Mache Barrie”… And, @Gbear, don’t forget the RFAs that are now left hanging…you snooze, you lose!
