With the majority of the free agent class locked up, teams now have to turn their attention to the trade market to improve their team. That said, the Edmonton Oilers went out and signed a free agent today in Jussi Jokinen who can legitimately help their team next year.
There are still a few names out there that can make an impact. Out of our Top 50 Free Agents, 19 names remain available, though most would take on a fringe role on any team. Despite that, we ask you now: Who is the best free agent left on the market?
We’ve listed some of the names in our Top 50, and some names that have been added to the pool since then, but make sure to leave any other options you think should be considered in the comments.

If I’m a playoff contender I’m looking at anyone here but Chiasson. Not really interested in Iginla, but the name and veteran presence hold some value. Like everyone else for the right price. Hope Stafford returns to Boston.

Can the Leafs afford Markov? Would fit into the 2-3 year window before the kids get their big pay increase.

I like it. But if I were the Leafs, I’d just offer a one year deal at big money.
Anything that makes Hainsey into a #5 instead of a #4 would be a smart move for them.
Maybe Brian Campbell if Markov passes.

I’d love to see Fisher on the B’s to be there 3rd line center that would be amazing

Fisher isn’t going anywhere other than Nashville. He’s either going to re-sign there or retire. He has no interest in playing anywhere else
